Anthony “Chio” Chiofalo is an independent artist, propelled by the unrelenting drive to make uniquely inspiring music. As a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, the native New Yorker is focused on using music to perpetuate the joy, peace, and levity which it has afforded him throughout his life.
Having begun his childhood with Billy Joel’s Greatest Hits on repeat, Chio found his sonic niche in his early teens, listening to KROCK spin classics like Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” and Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” He continued to dive further into the rock genre upon discovering Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in his Dad’s CD collection and watching VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock countdown. At age 13, when he found a guitar in his grandparents’ basement, he began down a road he’d never be able to turn back from.
As one of two frontmen in progressive heavy rock outfit The Fulcrum, Chio continues to dive deeper into depths of what rock music can be. But as a solo artist, Chio has set himself up to thoroughly explore any realm of music he can produce his way into. Trending from retro soul and jazz vibes to indie rock and acoustic folk, he’s taking his distinct writing style into a broader array of genres.
