Grand Folk Railroad
With a make-every-note-count approach to performing, a vast eclectic repertoire and questionable regard for folk-rock music traditions, Grand Folk Railroad blurs the lines between pop, rock, folk and singer/songwriter genres. GFR brings on the fun with an eclectic/eccentric mix of folk-rock-flavored, flower-powered forgotten favorites, 60's and 70's pop gems, one hit wonders and intriguing songwriting.
With a make-every-note-count approach to performing, a vast eclectic repertoire and questionable regard for folk-rock music traditions, Grand Folk Railroad blurs the lines between pop, rock, folk and singer/songwriter genres. GFR brings on the fun with an eclectic/eccentric mix of folk-rock-flavored, flower-powered forgotten favorites, 60’s and 70’s pop gems, one hit wonders and intriguing songwriting. Playing bass, lead guitar and drums is Mike Christian, also known as the mastermind behind all those quirky arrangements. His partner in crime, Susan Schwartz-Christian, is the primary songwriter, singer, banjo, acoustic guitar, and flute player. Frank Doris is the lead guitar player who knows how to take a song to the next level with beautifully melodic touches and the ability to bring on the burn when needed – and he plays bass, uke and melodica, too! Gary Schoenberger is the keyboard player, singer and guitarist who knows how to put the Folk in the GFR repertoire! And Bill Resvanis… well, he’s the drummer with more groove than a box of Motown platters. Grand Folk Railroad is the band that makes everyone smile!
