In Flux
In Flux is a 5 piece local Long Island band composed of professional instrumentalists with a tight sound and soaring vocals. With catchy originals and a few creative covers up their sleeves, In Flux' live music, melodic grooves and connection with the audience always makes them a crowd favorite!
Matt Hoffman – Guitar, Vocals – Matt Hoffman is an award winning singer/songwriter, a music major and the current Band Director at Walt Whitman High School. As a multi-instrumentalist and production engineer, Matt has written and produced over 8 original albums and is also the co-advisor of The Collective Recording Studio at Whitman.
Vito Monti – Drums & Guitar – A Maryland native, Vito grew up playing drums in various punk bands in the Baltimore, DC area. An English teacher at Walt Whitman High School and a published poet, Vito anchors the In Flux rhythm section behind the kit and plays guitar on a few tunes as well. Monti is also the founder and co-advisor of The Collective Recording Studio at Whitman.
David Rickmers – Lead Vocals – A cross between Chris Cornell and John Fogerty, Dave Rickmers’ soaring vocals are always a crowd favorite! Rickmers teaches AP Art at Walt Whitman High School and gigs regularly all over the island. He’s currently one of two musicians in residence at The Whiskey Barrel in Port Jefferson on Saturday nights.
Greg Modelewski – Piano – Music major and Band Director at Walt Whitman High School, Greg is a multi-instrumentalist who plays wind, brass and keys; the pianist for In Flux, Modelewski adds color, movement and rhythm to the band’s catalogue. Additionally, Greg’s work on the trumpet, clarinet and cello have given the band a larger palette from which to work. Modelewski also serves as both the Marching Band Director and the Jazz Band Director at Walt Whitman High School.
Joey Jazz – Bass Guitar – Joey Jazzinski (aka- Joey “Jazz”) is an accomplished guitarist, bassist and vocalist. In Flux’ newest addition to the band, Joey’s tight bass riffs always sit deep in the pocket, galvanize the rhythm section and glue the band together. Joey Jazz also plays guitar and sings on various In Flux tracks.
